Whoever said UW-Richland was boring might have to change their mind!
Indeed a big event, supported by the campus foundation, is coming up in our little campus. For the eighth year in a row, Student Services proudly presents Richland Rocks.
"Last year, 250 students were involved in the activities," said Lisa Behling, an Associate Student Services Specialist at UW-R.
Richland Rocks is a 5 days event from Monday April 13 until Friday April 17. Each letter of 'ROCKS' represents a day:
R: Registration Amnesty
O: Options for Majors Day
C: Care for Yourself/Wellness Fair
K: KWACK! Scholarship Duck Race
S: Sundaes in Student Services
"The purpose is to encourage students on planning their future," said John Poole, UW-R director.
Students will get the chance to register in advance for next semester after they meet with their advisors and also get a lot of information about their majors.
Kathy Neckar, a Student Services and International Student Coordinator, who is organizing the third day's "Care for Yourself/Wellness Fair," says it's also a good opportunity to get to know more about Student Services at UW-R.
Throughout the whole week, there will be a lot of prizes to win.
People applying for a scholarship don't want to miss the Scholarship Duck Race on Thursday where a $200 scholarship will be given to the fastest duck.
